Colour Adjustments

Hey everyone! I'm assuming that you know where the functions are for the tutorial below, you may try to tweak it a bit here and there! Be creative, you don't need to follow the tutorial exactly. What's the point of having it the same? (:

Use an image of something with a few colours, not black and white.

Paste it on your canvas of Photoshop (I use Photoshop CS3.)

Go to Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Hue/Saturation. Set the saturation to +10. Observe the change :D!

Duplicate your base layer and set it to overlay 51%. Sharpen the layer 2 times.

Click Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Color Balance. I used the following settings.

Shadows: -56 -11 - 6
Midtones: -57 -32 +4
Highlights: -14 -7 -8

NOTE that the box - Preserve Luminosity is checked.

Following that, go to Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Curves. You may consider the settings below.

*place the points at:
Red:
output 105 input 94
output 180 input 134

Green:
output 130 input 119

Blue:
output 78 input 74
output 145 input 113
output 160 input 151

Please feel free to ask if you need help with it ;)

After that, go to Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Selective Color (:
You will need the changes below:

Reds: -100 0 93 0
Yellows: 100 0 -100 0
Greens: 66 0 0 0
Cyans: 100 0 0 0
Blues: 100 0 0 0
Magentas: 77 70 0 0
Whites: 71 0 0 74
Neutrals: -62 -2 4 -11
Blacks: 67 25 -8 -10

For method, leave it as relative.

Duplicate the selective colour 2-3 times. Leave the first one you made as it is, for the second one, set the colour mode to Luminosity. The third one will be at Normal 25%.

Use the duplicate base you made earlier on, and duplicate it. Pull the duplicated layer up to the top of the layers. Set it to soft like 51%.

If you are unsure, look at the layer arrangement:

And at the end, I get this!

Try this out and let us know what you think (:!
